Giant and Lawn Games
Giant Checkers Rentals
The board game everybody already knows, scaled up until the pieces are the size of a dinner plate. It takes about four seconds to explain and roughly none to join halfway through.

Specifications
Twenty-four discs and the mat they play on.
Twelve white and twelve black, each 10 inches across and 4 inches tall, thick enough to find on grass and to stand where they are put. The mat is vinyl and folds flat for transport, so it goes down on grass, paving, carpet or a hard floor.

Where a two-player game earns space
Six places a ten-foot board makes sense.
Company picnics
Two people play, six watch and the watching is the point. A game at ground scale draws a ring of spectators in a way a table-height one never does.
Cottage and country venues
The pieces are rated to stand out in the weather, so the board can be left set up between sessions rather than struck every time the forecast turns.
Family days
Checkers is the game a six-year-old and a grandparent can play on level terms. Nothing else in this range does that without one of them being handicapped.
Corporate lawns
Allow a clear 10 by 10 feet for the mat plus room to walk around it, so players can move a piece from the side rather than reaching across the board.
Office and workplace events
It plays indoors on carpet as readily as on grass. A wide corridor or an emptied meeting room is enough, which makes it the winter version of a lawn game rather than a summer-only booking.
Long receptions
A round is short. Most guests play a few moves and hand the board over, which keeps a queue moving instead of parking two people on it for an hour.
The other board on the same mat size
Same square of ground, a much longer game.
Chess takes exactly the space checkers takes and holds its two players for far longer, which is the opposite behaviour on identical ground. Booking both gives a lawn a fast board and a slow one. They are separate rentals with a mat each, not one mat serving two sets.
