A hangar, a barn and a hall by the river are three shells. A shell needs dividing before it needs furnishing. Pipe and drape does that. Interlocking floor tile covers a concrete or a field floor, dance floors and stage decks sit on top of it. Banquet tables, folding chairs, cocktail tables fill the space between. Party tents and pop-up canopies with sandbags extend it outdoors. Belt stanchions, barricades, carpet runners, lighting, sign stands and lawn games complete the order.

SKY Hangar on Airport Way hosts events for a hundred and fifty or more inside a working helicopter hangar, with an upstairs room — and because the hangar is operational, the schedule is agreed with the venue rather than assumed. Hopcott Farms on Reichenbach Road runs barn and field events with the mountains behind them. Mountain View Venue on Harris Road faces Golden Ears. South Bonson Community Centre on Barnston View Road is the municipal room by the river, with no on-site coordinator — everything is brought in and set up by whoever you hire.

For a venue with no staff on the day, we plan the full setup and confirm the layout in advance, so nobody is standing in an empty hall at 2pm deciding where the tables go. Hangar and farm sites get the usual access questions answered before loading.

Because in a shell venue the rental supplier effectively builds the event. We plan for that rather than dropping off a list of items.
