The post an arrival is built from: a weighted base, a ball top and a velvet rope hanging in a curve across to the next one.
Three posts
The finish decides the room and the caps decide the rope.
All three are the same post in a different finish and each arrives with a rope. What is not interchangeable is which rope: gold and black posts take the nine gold-capped colours, chrome takes the three that are made with silver caps.

Every rope in the group
Nine colours, twelve ropes, three posts.
There are twelve ropes below in nine colours: red, navy and black are each made twice, once with gold caps and once with silver, because the caps are built into the rope rather than bolted to the post. That doubling is the only reason the grid runs longer than the colour count. Gold-capped ropes hang on the gold post or the black one. Silver-capped ropes hang on the chrome post. Settle the post first, then choose inside the set it accepts.

Three things to settle before the order goes in.
How many ropes, exactly
Ropes bridge gaps, so a line of posts always carries one fewer rope than it has posts — unless the line closes on itself, when the two numbers match. This is the single most common correction we make to a request and it is easier to fix now than on site.
Which caps the room needs
Gold caps on gold and black posts; silver caps on chrome. Choosing a rope colour first and a post second is how an order ends up with a pink rope and a chrome post, which is a combination we can send and nobody wants delivered.
How far apart they stand
About 4 ft. The rope is 5 ft and the extra foot is the curve it hangs in. Spacing the posts at a full 5 ft pulls the rope straight and drags on both bases, so measure the run at four and let the drop look like a drop.
