Specifications
One section is a panel, a brace and a floor.
The panel a crowd leans on is held by two angled legs running back to a base frame that lies flat in front of it, so the people pushing are standing on the thing that stops it moving. Behind the panel each section carries a step for security to work from; sections bolt to one another into one structure.

What it is good at
Six places barricade is the right answer.
Front of stage
The straight run across the stage front, where the whole point is that the front row can lean on it for two hours without the line creeping forward.
A pit with a working gap
Set out from the stage to leave a lane behind the barricade for security, medics and photographers, which is the only route along the front once the room is full.
Wrapping the corners
The ends of the run turned back towards the stage, so the line closes onto something instead of finishing in the middle of a crowd where the pressure would find the gap.
Splitting a front pit
A second run dividing an early-entry or VIP pit from general standing, holding two crowds apart at the point where they push in the same direction.
Mix positions and cable runs
Boxing off a front-of-house position or a stack, so an audience stands against a barricade rather than against a case of equipment.
Festival stages on grass
An outdoor stage front on open ground, where the base frame does the work that ballast would have to do for a lighter barrier.
The usual add-on
Steel for everything that is not the stage front.
The stage barrier is for the pressure point. The rest of a site — the perimeter, the production compound, a street closure, the queue outside the gate — is bike rack barricade work. The two are usually on the same order because the run at the stage is only ever part of the plan. Send us the site drawing and we will split it between the two.
