Padded Folding Chair Rentals

There is a point around the ninety-minute mark where a moulded seat stops being acceptable and an audience starts shifting. This is the chair you book when the programme runs past it.

Specifications

High-density foam, front and back.

Foam in the seat and in the back, over a back tall enough to support shoulders rather than stopping at the small of the spine. Twelve pounds a chair, with an ergonomic handle moulded into the back frame — a detail that sounds minor until a room has to be reset between two sessions.

Where the sit is long

Six programmes that keep people in the seat.

  • Half-day conferences

Two content blocks and a break. The chair has to be comfortable at minute ninety rather than at minute ten, which is a padding question rather than a design one.

  • AGMs and board meetings

A formal room, a fixed agenda and no way for anybody to stand up and walk about. The high back is what makes the second hour bearable.

  • Training days

Seated work with a notebook, which puts a person forward in the seat rather than back in it. An oversized seat pan is doing the work here more than the backrest is.

  • Awards dinners with a speaking programme

Guests seated through six speakers between courses. Padding is the difference between a room that stays and a room that drifts to the bar.

  • Houses of worship and community halls

Regular seated services in a room that also has to become something else during the week. It folds to 8.85 inches deep, so a full set stores against a wall.

  • Seminars and panel rooms

Where the seating is in shot behind the panel. Black frame, black fabric, no branding and nothing shiny — furniture that photographs as a room rather than as a rental order.

What goes in front of them

Rows of these usually face a table.

Registration on the way in, a panel table at the front, a catering line at the break. All three are the same banquet table in different places. Putting them on one request means one delivery window rather than two.
