The finish is the whole of the difference — a polished frame and polished uprights, against interiors whose own fittings are already bright. Mechanically it is the plain version of the product and there is nothing to learn: the poster goes into the slot at the top, nothing on the stand adjusts and the parts travel flat, going together in minutes.

Rooms that want the bright one
Six settings chrome was made for.
A hotel or conference foyer
Everything permanent in one of those rooms — luggage rails, lift surrounds, the stanchions the hotel already owns — is bright metal. This stand joins that set instead of interrupting it.
An atrium or a daylit hall
Under a glass roof chrome picks up the light and stays visually light. A dark upright in the same room reads as a heavy vertical line in an otherwise bright space.
Retail concourses
Where the fixture palette is metal, glass and pale stone, a chrome post disappears into it and the graphic is left to do the talking.
A product launch
A polished stand beside a polished product looks specified rather than borrowed, which matters in the frame of every photograph taken that evening.
