It rolls in already built.
One piece off the van, standing on its own feet, nothing to bolt. The rail pulls out from 50 to 69 5/8 inches and the height winds between 56 1/2 and 65. Two of the four casters lock, so it stays where you push it.

Where a rack ends up
Six places the coats have nowhere else to go.
A hall with no cloakroom
The building was designed for the room and not for the doorway. A rack goes where the queue already forms and the brakes stop it drifting away from the desk as it fills.
A tented reception
Nothing inside a marquee is fixed to anything, so outerwear ends up over chair backs. The rack stands on a flat floor at 22 inches deep and takes a corner of the footprint rather than a wall.
Conference registration
Delegates arrive in one wave and want their hands free before the first session. Winding the rail out to its full 69 5/8 inches is the difference between one rack and two at that hour.
Backstage and dressing rooms
Wardrobe hangs where the changes happen. The height winds down to 56 1/2 inches for a low-ceilinged back room and up to 65 where garments are long.
A pop-up or a sample sale
Here the rail is the display rather than the storage. Chrome under shop lighting reads as fixture rather than as equipment borrowed for the weekend.
A room that changes use at 9pm
Dinner out, dancing in. It is 12.8 lb on four swivel wheels, so it moves to the next room during the turnaround and folds flat when the coats have gone.

The tickets have to be handed over somewhere.
A rack takes the coats. It does not take the numbered tags, the pen or the box everything gets dropped into while somebody is looking for their ticket. A 6 ft rectangular table alongside is that desk and it folds down at the end of the night the way the rack does.
