It hooks under the legs, which is why it stays put.
The cloth goes over the table and each corner has an elasticated pocket that pulls down over a leg. Once all four are on, the fabric is under tension across the top and there is nothing to clip, pin or tape underneath. It comes out of the bag ready — there is no steaming and no ironing before the room opens.

Two colours
Black or white, same cloth.
White reads as a dressed table and shows what is put on it. Black takes a spill and disappears against a dark floor, which is why it is the one that gets ordered for evening rooms.

Six of them, at 6 ft.
A registration or check-in desk
The first table a guest walks up to. It is also the one they stand closest to. Bare folding legs at knee height is what the cloth hides, because at that distance they are the thing being looked at.
A gift or card table
Short, visible from the whole room and usually photographed. Six feet is enough surface without turning the corner of the room into a storage area.
A cake or dessert table
One table doing one job in the middle of a wall. White under a cake and black under a dessert spread are the two that get asked for. Neither wants a crease across the front of it.
A merchandise or sampling table
Trade shows and activations, where the table is inside the booth and the front panel of it is brand-facing. A fitted cloth gives a flat face rather than a loose one that shifts when it is bumped.
A bar back or service table
Behind the counter rather than in front of it, holding glassware and stock. Black is the one that goes here, because what is on it is working equipment and not part of the room.
Outdoors, on a rectangle with four corners
The leg pockets are the difference. An unattached linen on a breezy patio needs clips at every corner; this one is already held to the table at four points.

The cloth is cut to one table in particular.
This is sized to the 6 ft banquet table we rent — 72 inches by 30 — and a stretch cloth only looks right on the table it was cut for. If the tables are coming from us as well, both go on the one request and arrive together.
