Nothing on it adjusts. That is deliberate.
The poster slides in through the slot in the top and slides out again. Anything up to 3/16 in fits — paper, a laminate or a corrugated board. The stand arrives flat and goes together in minutes.

Rooms that want the black one
Six places a black upright is the right call.
An evening programme
Once the house lights come down, polished metal catches every spotlight in the room and throws it back as a bright vertical line that pulls the eye off the stage. Black does not do that.
In front of drape
Our drape bays run black, so a black stand against them reads as a poster floating on the wall with nothing visibly holding it.
A trade show floor
Show carpet is usually dark and the booths either side are usually loud. Black is the neutral that does not compete with your own graphic for attention.
A multi-day run
A stand that gets repositioned twice a day collects marks. Black hides them, which is what decides whether the third morning looks as considered as the first.
A room with exposed brick or steel
Warehouse, distillery, gallery, loft. The existing metal in those rooms is dark and matte, so a bright upright becomes the one object in shot that looks hired.
On camera
Anywhere a lighting rig is doing the work and the frame has to stay out of the picture. A dark upright reads as a shadow rather than as a highlight running up the side of the poster.
Under the poster
A poster answers what. The line answers where.
A 22 × 28 graphic at the head of a queue does half the job: people know they are in the right place, then stand in whatever shape the room suggests. Belt posts finish it in the same matte black as these uprights, planned at 8 ft apart, with a belt that pulls out of the head of each post.
