A 120-inch cloth reaches the floor all the way round; a 108 stops short and puts the steel frame on show. The top is moulded plastic rated to 330 lb.

Wedding receptions in a tight room
Where the pillar spacing or the dance floor leaves no clean line for larger rounds. Budget roughly 100 sq ft per table once its chairs and its share of the walkway are counted.
Gala dinners
Six to a table puts everybody within speaking distance of everybody else, which is the argument for the smaller round and the reason some clients specify it over a bigger one.
Awards banquets
More tables means more table numbers and more places to seat a sponsor at the front. The layout gets finer control than a room of large rounds allows.
Community dinners
Long service, a wide age range and a room that has to be cleared the same night. The moulded handle and the folding frame are what make the clear-down quick.
Cocktail lounges with seated pockets
A few seated tables at the edge of a standing room, for guests who need to sit down. At 48 inches they take a group without becoming a dining area in the middle of a reception.

A 90-inch round over this table hangs 21 inches, which clears the floor rather than pooling on it — the drop people mean when they say the table is dressed. It is flat polyester rather than stretch, black or white. It goes on after the table is standing where it will stay.
